Headroom on yachts
To feel at home on board a yacht, you need a decent headroom. While most homes in Germany have a headroom of 2.20m - 2.50m, a yacht can have between 1.95m and 2.35m. The higher the headroom, the more spacious the space feels and the more you can be connected to your nature and surroundings without feeling cramped inside the yacht. Bering yachts, for example, have a headroom of 2.35m net on the main deck of the Yacht Explorer model B80. In it, the sandwich floor and ceiling panels are already stripped.
Especially for tall people, the low headroom on yachts can be a problem.
Another important factor is the headroom in the yacht's engine rooms. When building or buying a yacht, keep in mind that you or your crew will need to use the engine room frequently. The more headroom there is and the more airy you can work on the machinery and equipment, the happier and easier maintenance will be and the happier the yacht owner will be.
