The design approach

Bering Yachts prides itself on building robust steel-hulled yachts with an emphasis on reliable and easily accessible machinery. This mindset starts below deck and continues throughout the vessel's systems.

The roots of Bering's design and construction approach lie in modern steel North Sea merchant vessels built to the highly respected Scandinavian standards of naval architecture. These vessels, capable of withstanding the severe storms and icy conditions of the North and Baltic Seas, set the standard that Bering Yachts founder Alexei Mikhailov follows in his mission to build semi-custom, heavy steel expedition vessels that provide safe and stable cruising.

Bering Yachts is committed to certain design principles to create the most capable and reliable motor yacht. Hull designs are based on those proven in commercial shipping. The use of Lloyd's certified AH36 marine steel in the hulls and decks creates an exceptionally strong and reliable vessel. In addition, the use of steel allows for tremendous flexibility in the placement of interior bulkheads and thus great adaptability of the floor plan.
